Our strange dinner choices and you’ll love to eat these @AmritaBars {Giveaway}

I’ve got my first giveaway for you today 🙂

First though, I’ll share a little of our evening last night. The best laid plans can go awry, or something like that right? Well, I never got in my workout last night, but I’ll be doubling up today to make up for it. So much for getting back into the groove.

First let’s start off with dinner last night. Chris tried to be a sweet husband and make my usual kabocha squash, but I knew something wasn’t going to work out right when he was peeling it. Hmmm… he followed a recipe online, but it turned out to be soggy and way too salty. I think next time he’ll leave the vegetable roasting to me.

So we ended up with this:

Chris made some couscous concoction that I refused to eat. It looked like a bad cafeteria lunch. I ended up with a plate full of romaine, balsamic and a few slices of ham. Miles had mixed vegetables. He was loving his carrots, corn, peas, and green beans. It was an unplanned meal if you couldn’t tell.

I also roasted a few cassava fries and shared them with Miles. He didn’t like them:

Now for the exciting giveaway!!

I first tried Amrita bars at the Atlantic City Marathon Expo. I loved that they are plant-based and have no extra fillers or artificial ingredients. Just wholesome goodness and they taste awesome, too.

The best thing about these bars is that they don’t have all the extra junk:

Here’s more from their site:

Plant-based nutrition is all about optimizing wellness. It’s about harnessing the inherent and incredible power of plants to heal your body, repair your health, and provide the strength, mental focus, and resolve to unleash your best self. The old adage is true: You are what you eat. But that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated, daunting, or confusing. Because eating a plant-based diet is far easier – and more sustainable in the long run – than you might imagine.

A plant-based whole-food diet has been shown to offer several advantages. You get sick less often, you can recover faster and train harder, and you can keep your body mass index low, which helps you to remain light while having the ability to build muscular strength.

Plant-based nutrition delivers high net-gain, quality nutrition that is critical for cellular regeneration after exercise, maintaining a lean body, and staying active and alert through the day’s activities without any stimulants.
