On Friday, I’m headed up to NYC to attend the weekend Lola Retreat!
I believe I came across this financial retreat on Frugalwoods last year, and somewhere along the blogosphere, I put in for a scholarship to attend the retreat next weekend in NYC. It worked out, for once, that something was in my neck of the woods; a short train ride away.
As I’ve read more about the retreat, it sounds like it’ll be a fantastic weekend. I hope to meet a lot of like-minded women, and I’m excited to check out the Financial Gym in Manhattan. My goal for the weekend is obviously to learn a ton, but also to make some connections with others who I may keep in contact with to keep learning from. It sounds like an awesome weekend, so join us if you are going to be in the NYC area!
The mission of the Financial Gym sounds awesome and I definitely can see their business model growing. To bring financial talks out in the open in a supportive space is huge. It’s one thing to make apps to track expenses, it’s another thing to shift the way women think about money and help others focus on their goals. I feel honored to be invited to be a part of such an awesome group of women changing the financial world.
So, here’s to a nice weekend away in NYC. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to write about after the retreat. Plus, it’ll be the first time Chris and I ever stay in a hotel in NYC. We usually take the train in for the day and head home later at night. This time around, we are making a weekend out of it, as his birthday is Friday! And, the weather appears to be warming up as of Friday, too.
Super thankful for this opportunity, I can’t wait to share more. Have you ever attended a financial retreat or conference? What did you gain from it?
