Gone Hiking

Monday, April 1, 2019Sunday, February 7, 2021 ~ Kate

The past two weekends I've gotten into something new: hiking! I was a part of a hiking club in college, but never really made it out on many hikes. I used to enjoy trails, but since becoming a runner I always looked at trail maps for distances and elevation in order to run easier trails. … Continue reading Gone Hiking

Traveling on My Mind

Thursday, January 24, 2019Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate ~ 4 Comments

Now that our children are getting older, I'd like to travel a little more. I keep daydreaming of days or weeks or months away on an adventure to all sorts of places. Those far off places will be years in the making, of saving and preparing, but this year we've got quite a bit on … Continue reading Traveling on My Mind

Our Royal Caribbean 7-night Cruise to the Bahamas from NJ

Friday, July 6, 2018Friday, January 29, 2021 ~ Kate ~ 10 Comments

Chris and I were super excited to arrive at the port in our home state of New Jersey. We had to park at the very top of the parking garage, so that made it a little fun to see the boat before we made our way on to our ship. Rooms weren't ready yet, so … Continue reading Our Royal Caribbean 7-night Cruise to the Bahamas from NJ

We Took a Real Vacation.

Thursday, July 5, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate ~ 2 Comments

Chris and I took a weeklong cruise to the Bahamas last week and we're enjoying the relaxation it brought and now are diving right into home projects this summer. Yes, we finally took a real vacation... I'm going to take a break from writing here for awhile, as I just don't feel that I have … Continue reading We Took a Real Vacation.

Podcasts I’m Listening to

Thursday, June 7, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate ~ 4 Comments

I listen to a lot of podcasts! Over time I try new ones and then they either get left by the wayside or they become a part of my regular subscriptions and routine. Who knew I'd eventually become a big NPR fan through their podcasts. Growing up listening to NPR or talk radio (heck, even … Continue reading Podcasts I’m Listening to

Solve Your Sunburn with a Homegrown Aloe Vera Plant

Monday, May 21, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate

This is a quick note to show you that it's super easy to grow an Aloe Vera plant and keep it alive. If I can do it, you can, too. I bought this aloe plant a little over a year ago. It was a small one from Home Depot and I picked it up not … Continue reading Solve Your Sunburn with a Homegrown Aloe Vera Plant

Photographs from My Archive: Monterey, California

Friday, May 11, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate

In the process of deciding to rejoin Instagram, and rebuilding my photography business, I have been spending time digging through my archives enjoying old photos I've taken on various trips. I'm sharing a bunch over on IG, follow me there. Prior to having kids, I was known to have a DSLR camera with me at … Continue reading Photographs from My Archive: Monterey, California

NYC Lola Retreat Day Two Recap

Wednesday, May 2, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate ~ 2 Comments

The Lola Retreat weekend was just as great the second day as the first. Before we started in on sessions, it was nice to chat with other women who were able to return for the second day of sessions over a delicious brunch. Many whom I spoke with had taken away so much from the … Continue reading NYC Lola Retreat Day Two Recap

NYC Lola Retreat Day One Recap

Tuesday, May 1, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate

Whew! I made it to NYC this past weekend for the Lola Retreat despite being terrified to meet new people. What gave me butterflies ended up giving me a bunch of new ladies I would consider new friends, and many new ideas for how I want to go forward financially, personally, and professionally. I'm super … Continue reading NYC Lola Retreat Day One Recap

Headed to the Lola Retreat in NYC!

Monday, April 23, 2018Thursday, January 28, 2021 ~ Kate

On Friday, I'm headed up to NYC to attend the weekend Lola Retreat! I believe I came across this financial retreat on Frugalwoods last year, and somewhere along the blogosphere, I put in for a scholarship to attend the retreat next weekend in NYC. It worked out, for once, that something was in my neck … Continue reading Headed to the Lola Retreat in NYC!

Nothing like a good vlugen donut after bloodwork @broadst_doughco #donuts #sugar #kids #mmschocolate
5.5 miles done with Rebecca by the beach. I may have convinced her to do my 9 miler on Saturday with me :) Only 3 weeks ago, 2-3 miles was long. Now 5-6 is a midweek breeze. Loving these warmer sunny days. Added chest/back strength today, too! #bradleybeach #beach #sunshine #oceanlife #training #runchat #galloway #runwalkrun #sanddunes #sand #dunes

30min run done. The start was rough dealing with inflammation in my calves. I came across this rock and after reading it my legs instantly felt better and I hit an old fav 10:00/pace. Running has always been a way I connect with my higher power. Second workout of the day complete :) In other news, got the socks/shorts combo right but long sleeve or a vest would’ve been better. Windy and cool by the water today! #running #runchat #runwalkrun #rocks #seaside #paintedrocks @procompression #socks
45 min run completed on tired legs. I forgot what those felt like. #shells #inlet #shore #seashell
